WWTP Berovo, Macedonia

Within the framework of cooperation between Switzerland and the Republic of Macedonia, the Swiss government offers, represented by the State Secretariat of Economic Affairs (SECO), financial support on grant basis for the implementation of the Berovo Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project.


Task:

Reconstruction of and expansion of the regional drinking water system of Berovo and constructing a new drinking water reservoir 1’200m3 and the protection of Bregalnica river from pollution by household and industrial sewage by constructing a
new main collector and a waste water treatment plant (14'000 PE) is built to prevent the pollution of the river Bregalnica.
Improved environmental conditions allow a better development of the local economy, tourism and food processing industry

WWTP:

    • Design and built of Waste Water Treatment Plant with a capacity in relation to the wastewater and sludge treatment of 14’000 population equivalents (PE) including 6 Reed Beds and construction of a section of sewage collector from Berovo to Waste Water Treatment Plant. 

    • Inlet / Outlet Structures

    • Intake Pumping Station, Primary and Secondary Reactors and Sludge Thickening

    • SCADA System

    • Process Control and measurement equipment

WTP:

    • Rehabilitation of the drinking water treatment plant (WTP) in Berovo

Drinking Water Reservoir:

    • Construction of a new drinking water reservoir on the grounds of the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) with capacity of 1’200m3

    • SCADA System

Drinking Water Pipeline:

    • Reconstruction of the drinking water pipeline from the drinking water treatment plant to the city of Berovo
